Melbourne Cup Hightea 2023

Let’s Do HighTea at Home

What a brilliant idea! Let’s have High Tea at home to usher n celebrate the Melbourne Cup this year!

Becky made all da fancy sandwiches but no egg??? I love my EGG … so last minute I made some and they got totally smashed!!!

Smoked Salmon

Cucumber Chicken

Pesto Ham

Spinach Dip

Humble egg on left

Salmon Lettuce

3 breads (multigrain/white/wmeal)

High Tea was not hard to put together and it turned out to be a pretty good spread even if I say so myself and in the comfort of our own home.

Salmon/Caviar Cucumber thingies

Date Scones

Scone with cream
Blackberries/strawberries/Blueberries

Procuitto pear balsamic glaze parcels

Eva’s lemon slice on right

I reckon we killed Langham’s High Tea for freshness n our sandwiches were way more tasty and fancier.  For what they are charging nowadays, especially when the kids have to pay nearly full price it was cheaper to cater for ourselves at home! Lola’s date scones were next level not to mention her Black Forest scones:)

Eva as White Princess

Simon as Princess Belle

Eva changed into Princess Ariel

Girls got dressed up and us ladies donned  on our fascinators and there was bubbles served… so we were all set for da races!

Cheers

We watched the race live on telly, but did not bet on any horses.  Just as well we did not rush to the Book Makers or we would have been kicked in our teeth/mouths!!! Better stuffed with sweet treats and washed down with bubbles!

Girls and their winners

It was a fun afternoon at home and everyone enjoyed ourselves, so looks like we will be having more High Teas at home in future!

Disney Magic at Sea 3/11/23

The cruise ship

Finally the long awaited cruise happened and we came back with only one casualty…. lost our Minnie water bottle!

Going on board

Our ride

Finally it is happening!

PROFESSIONAL SHOTS WITH RAPUNZEL

=====     =====     =====     =====

On departure day, we managed to score the last parking spot at Aces as we had to leave the car somewhere “safe”!  That in itself was a good omen to start our holiday!

We waited at Hobsons by Station Pier with our luggage sipping latte n stuffing our faces with brunch whilst Ray parked the car.  All smooth sailing on land so far, and we boarded the Disney Wonder on time!!! IYKYK (Ray is always late!)

Yupz… that’s US!

The fine details

Girls getting settled down

Just Chilling

On board we checked into our suite and settled in for a bit before we joined all the other passengers on deck for the “evacuation drill”.

All da way down to “P” area

EVACUATION DRILL BRIEFING

Once over, it was free play for anything and everything on board.  We checked the girls into the kiddies club to initiate and let them get a taste of what fun lies ahead for them for next two days!

2 days stay may sound short, but in my honest opinion, I believe it is just the right amount of time, otherwise the girls might melt down due to sensory overload!!!  Parents might also burn out?!? not to mention spend more $$$?!?

Happening mid Deck 9

Lovely sunset

We were lucky our suite was 8060 so it’s centrally located to most outdoor activities.

LET THE FUN BEGIN

Sail a Wave Party

Girls were overwhelmed!!!

Cheers to some good times

Beginning with the “Sail a Wave” party to kick start the holiday, other highlights would be the Bibidi Bobidi Boo Boutique experience where the girls get to pick their outfit, get manicure, hair and make up done aka princess makeover… The Frozen Show… The Walt Disney Fairytales Performance… The Super Heroes ReUnite with fireworks display.  Unfortunately no photography allowed at Shows!

Ray covered in snow!

The anticipation that kept the girls spirits high throughout was knowing that they are both booked for BBB and it was all well worth the wait!  You should have seen their excitement!!  It’s an hours pamper session but here are only a few pixs .
The BBB Boutique Princess Make-Over begins ….

ANIMATORS PALATE
Out of this world kewl dinner at Animator’s Palate where we drew our own sketch on special paper provided and they got complied into a movie and we got to see our drawing come alive on screen!

SUPER HEROES REUNITE/FIREWORKS DISPLAY

We were not going to go crazy and fit in everything so we filled in the day with more relaxing activities like swimming or going for drawing classes before our “big” main event planned for the day.  The pace was fast but our
girls handled the day well with no melt downs.  They were just happy to go with the flow which suited the adults!

Sleep time was also exciting for E n S as turndown service left us with an elephant and frog (towel art) plus chocolates and bunk beds… yassss!  I guess a fun filled-day also knocked them out like a flash!

If it was not activities, it was food!  Luckily, the Captain’s motto for us on this cruise is “Whatever you see, just eat it!”

In a nutshell… it was a “success” n everyone had a good time. Personally, I am not keen on cruising, but this was really something different and have to give Disney some credit because “dreams do come true” for most peeps on this cruise!
Don’t  just dream it…make it happen and DO it!!!

My girls were transformed into Princesses!!!

Princess Ariel

My 2 Princesses

Princess Jasmine
