HARVEST FARM STAY

When the Covid restrictions were lifted, we snuck in a short weekend away at the farm in Yarra Valley closer to Healesville end.  We stayed at Dairy Farm and its on a private property of 18 acres with some animals - lama, sheep, cows, chooks and geese which are all friendly animals that Eva could pat and feed.
Weather was not the best, but Eva loved stompping in muddy puddles, so all of us had our wellies on and just made the best of our time there.

Dinner was from Innocent Bystander and it was pretty amazing for takeaway food.  I lighted the wood stove and enjoyed some chill time in front of the crackling fire whilst Eva had a big soak and play in the giant spa bath.

Eva picked her freshly laid egg for breakfast and just enjoyed the farm stay as "young hearts run free"!

Then 2 weeks later 4th July, we went back to the farm again, but this time we stayed at Harvest House.  Lovely cosy original cottage that has been refurbished.

It was an all girls trip and Charlene joined us.  Char is like the other daughter I never had and Becks and Char go back a long ways and are like sisters but from different parents.

We chilled in front of the fire and enjoyed our cheese platter and warm cups of organic teas whilst watching SWAT!
We packed a few extra things this trip ... hula hoops, baked beans and sweet potatoes.

We did what we did on the first trip except better this time round.  I roasted sweet potatoes inside the wood stove and it tasted so delicious!  There's definitely something special about wood fire d sweet potatoes besides providing warmth!

The extra baked beans at breakfast this 2nd time round finished it off nicely and made it a real big breakfast!!!  Next time, I will bring some mushrooms and hopefully will be able to pick spinach off the veggie garden.
Eva did a house inspection and commented that Dairy House was the better one for her.  I guess its because it is more spacious, there was the heated flooring and the spa bath was really ginormous.  The playground was just at the back so we did not have to walk a mile to get there!

We came home with so many lemons, so we made a blueberry lemon butter cake.  From the 2nd trip we picked even more lemons but this time we made 2 lots of lemon slices and they taste so good.

COVID 19 LOCKDOWN IN VICTORIA

Friday 8th May 2920 ... 1.39am

This Covid-19 pandemic is far from over and is likely to stay for a long while even when restrictions are lifted and we can have a wee bit more "freedom" to come and go compared to now at Lockdown Stage 3.

As at 9pm on 7th May 2020, there have been 6,896 confirmed cased in Australia.  of these cases, 22 were confirmed within 24 hours prior to this time.

Of the 6,896 confirmed cases in Australia, 97 have died and 6,035 have been reported as recovered from Covid-19. More than 722,500 tests have been conducted across Australia.

Confirmed cases in Victoria 1,455.

17 June 2018
Most amenities..schools..restaurants are now open but social distancing still applies.

We managed to squeeze 2 farm stays when restrictions were lifted.

Eva sneaked in a playground run b4 they are shut down again.

9th July
2.0 lockdown in Victoria as Covid cases are on the rise....2nd wave!!!
Going to miss out on my glam/lux weekend getaway with Becky b4 Simona arrives thanks to 2nd lockdown. (Managed a remedial massage and had a lunch date in the car - I guess a little bit is better than no bit at all!)

PM urging people to wear masks...finally and this comes into effect 22/7 and I foresee this will be part of our lives for a wee while until the vaccine is available.

30th July
I am going to post this online but will keep editing and posting whenever I can ... just in case I might be caught up in the Covid madness and cannot make it back onto my blog again!  Also, Simona (2nd grandchild) arrives tomorrow so I most probably with have both my hands full.

TAKE GOOD CARE AND STAY SAFE EVERYONE
