Silo Trail Camping Trip

What an adventure! We started out good and camped one night in front of the lake.  We had a scrumptious meal cooked on the open fire…rib eye steak.. wings..prawns.. sausages and even managed to do some roasted sweet potatoes for supper on top of our charcuterie board.

Breakfast by the lake
We left towards the last silo but before we could arrive at Patchywollock we had a flat tyre.  Long story short we landed up at Patchy for the night and spent it in the pub drinking with local wheat farmers b4 crawling into our bed.
Yes the pub is the meeting point of the town… only place you can get a meal…we had the lamb shank and it was decent and a very generous serve! It also have a few rooms to accommodate “stranded” people like us!?!
We laughed n drank shots and margaritas till we practically peed in our pants!
Cant remember when I had such a fun nite drinking in the middle of nowhere Oz where the population is under 50 and I am being generous!

Broke down so nibbled on our wings waiting to be towed out!

Patchy silo “Noodle” we spoke to him but did not meet him

We befriended a few wheat farmers.  Everyone knows everyone in this town!!! Next morning Boozer sent his cousin Speedy to come fetch us to go “riding on the wheat harvester”.  It was indeed an experience and another one under the belt for me!

Boozer was smitten by J so 2 Asian Grammies had a blast!

Although we did not complete the silo trail but we had a ball and hope to return some day to see if we can have a few more drinks with the locals!!!

A lovely “get away from it all” kind of Aussie town!

Simona's Beach Day (Dec 2021)

This must be the first time Simona got her feet wet and sat in the waters at Tookgarook.

Water was warm enough for even Eva to kind of mermaid swim.

They both had ice cream! What a treat!!!

Misa Tassie Trip

In a nutshell, it was an awesome trip with the immediate Misa family including myself there was 10 of us.

Some went over on the SOT and some flew but we all met up at Launceston and drove all over.  Cradle Mountain…Hobart and did alot of fun activities along the way.
My favourite would have to be the oysters at Bruny Island and the amazing Lavender Farm.

These kilpatrick oysters were made by Sophie

It is so hard blogging from phone… frustrating as I am unable to increase size of font here now… so shall end abruptly.

Just know it was an enjoyable trip and we all came home on Christmas Eve in time to celebrate with the rest of the other Misas.

Daylesford Getaway (13/8/2022)

Predicted rain for Sat but we were lucky with weather till about 5pm and by the time it was dinner and the borealis show started it stopped and was just muddy!
We came prepared with our wellies!!!

Mother and daughter getaway from everything esp the kids… to sleep without being interrupted and having a whole king bed to yourself without anyone kicking you all night and pushing you up against the wall!!!

It was an indulgent decadent weekend.  The borealis was on by the lake and we had an early dinner at the Farmers Arms. I had the baddest as Bloody Mary here and it was absolutely bloody good!

Bloody Mary

Lunch at Boathouse

After the light show we went to get a massage and so glad we played the roulette correctly and picked 2 top massuers amongst countless ones in Daylesford.  Not cheap but totally worth it!!!

We arrived in time for lunch at the Boathouse .. walked around the shops afterwards and went for the most expensive hot chocolate too … only in Daylesford!!!

Checked into our accommodation.. would you believe this particular weekend everything is booked out and we were lucky to get ourselves upgraded to this delux king bed .. must have had a cancellation so it worked out extremely well for us.

Bashed infront of the telly and ate chips the rest of the night!

Woke up to light breakfast as we slept in and lunch at Sault was booked for 11.30am!!!

We ventured to Wombat Hill in spitting rain but dried up infront of the fireplace.

I guess the bad weather shifted to Sunday!!! Still… Daylesford is just as beautiful and a good destination for a short breakation.

Sault was yummy and there is nothing to fault its setting/food/surroundings.

We were stuffed to the max but you know how I love my food so it was just another day… just decadent and we enjoyed our quality time together and should be doing little trips like this till I can travel overseas again next year!!

So glad WE managed to get away from the girls but at the same time we did miss them too!
