Camping under stars n koalas in Otway’s Bimpi Park

This Easter (April 2024) was spent in Bimpi Park camping under the stars and koalas.  By far it was the best weather we have had and it was perfection in every way and every day!

The 2 Golden Retrievers Ollie and Brody came along and these 2 dogs are professional campers!  They know how to behave and chill especially around a fire!!!

We just chilled for 4 days and did not do too much around the camp!  Val on the other hand was on a mission to capture “bang bangs” is what I called them, but in actual fact they are called gang-gangs! lol

Val in action

Val leaves camp early on foot when it’s light to capture wildlife.  Daytime we tend to break up the day a bit.  We drive into Apollo Bay for some “human interaction” and to look around town.  We were lucky to catch a food and craft market one of those days and on other days to get more ice supplies etc.  On Easter Sunday we drove into AB to spoil ourselves with scallop pies and fresh oysters from the Fishing Co-Op.

Back at camp we will wander around now and again to spy with our eyes to spot koalas!  There was so many everywhere and hearing them call out at night was “scarrrrry” as it was as if a child was crying and being tormented!!
I am !!!Serious!!!
(Shame I can’t upload sound video)
Cute by day and scary by night!

This trip we experimented with cooking pineapples over the open fire and it turned out to be a delightful treat for all of us.  We had a roasting marshmallows contest too and Val was hands down the MMQueen!  Roasted her marshmallows to perfection every time!!!!

On a daily basis, Cris cooked up all kinds of “gourmet” breakfasts and meals for us including “room service” (delivery of breakfast to the inside of our tent!)  We are really lucky to have Cris as our “Camp Leader”! Thankful for his camping expertise in every aspect of making sure we are safe, well fed and comfortable out in natural surroundings and enjoying ourselves at all times!

Happy Campers

Furry tent mates

We did not miss out on Easter Eggs

Looks like we had a good mix of meals /cuisine ranging from Australian, Asian, French to Turkish!!!

All of us enjoyed this camp site and opposite us were 4 Eco cabins.  Thinking we will try to get the rest of the Misa clan here to experience nature at its best and get some “camping blood” into them by slowly easing them into those cabins first b4 they get into a tent!?! Lol
