7-9/June 2025
What can I say about the weather forecast!?! Just trust your gut instincts and roll with the odds!!!
This trip was organised about 3months ago and 10pax signed up for it on 3 sites.
A couple of days b4 we left...the weather has been horrible...cold wet windy wild and non stop rain was pouring and this horrible weather was to be expected at Walkerville over the long weekend.
"D" day came, and the 8 others that signed up for this trip pulled out --- some with good valid reasons and some because of the potential bad weather.
Last minute, I invited the Chatwins to join Sophie and myself.
This was over the Kings Birthday weekend. Long story short, yes we did have bad weather...but we had more sunshine than we ever expected and it turned out to be an excellent trip! Challenging at times but the rain came and poured down but after 10mins or so it stopped and all is good again!
We had excellent camping neighbours. They all pitched in to help out setting the 9men tent for the Chatwins in the rain! Soon after the tent was set up...the rain stopped!
We had so much food between us and we cooked up a storm each meal.. so we invited our neighbours and even the Park Managers!
So glad everyone loved our food..we had waterdogs/dumplings..naan bread with dahl n fish curries..fried koay teow...banana fritters...bubur cha cha etc
So nice to make new friends and share the love for food over the campfire!
Walkerville is definitely a lovely camping spot and we will return again in February 2026 or whenever we can fit it in …. Apologies for abrupt ending… phone has been compromised (16/7/25) and just wanted to publish this before I lose all my 000s of pixs!
