Ray Chen Recital

Never knew I liked da violin until I heard Ray Chen playing the violin.

I have been waiting for Ray Chen to come to Melbourne 8/9/2025 for a while now and as soon as tickets were on sale, I purchased 2 and took Becky along with me to get cultured. 

Met up with Becky after work in the city for dinner before the recital.

First half, I was bored out of my brains, luckily he picked up the pace second half.  I like Ray Chen’s upbeat fast pieces especially Valdi and he did not disappoint towards the end. 

He is definitely a maestro with complete control of his violin. I know how easily one can get drawn to appreciate his professionalism with the violin.  The Harmer Hall was packed with so many young enthusiastic children as well as old timers.  

The evening ended with 3 encores and it was a lovely night for a change!

If Ray Chen ever comes to your town, please get tickets to watch him as he is as good as you can get for an Asian playing the violin!
